Fort Worth, Texas (June 25, 2018) – RATP Dev USA, a national leader in public transit, donated $5,000 to the Transit Empowerment Fund a non-profit local to Austin, Texas. The donation will provide 10,000 Day Passes and 1,110 7-Day Passes to nonprofit organizations whose clients are seniors, those that identify with a disability, or students.

The Transit Empowerment Fund (TEF) was established in 2011 through a partnership between Capital Metro and One Voice Central Texas, a coalition of more than 100 non-profit health and human service organizations. It focuses on lowering barriers to self-sufficiency by increasing access to transportation for education, employment, healthcare and social services. The TEF distributes bus passes to organizations that serve low-income individuals and supports projects that employ creative solutions to expand transit services in underserved neighborhoods in the Austin area.

“The Transit Empowerment Fund is deeply committed to strengthening our community by supporting traditional and innovative mobility options,” said Janet Allen, Chair of the Transit Empowerment Fund Board. “We are thrilled that RATP Dev USA has chosen to partner with us as we work to find innovative transportation solutions.”

The donation is funded by RATP Dev’s “We Move People” community outreach program. The program’s objectives are to support and partner with individual agencies to impact the communities that RATP Dev serves nationwide; connecting its employees with transit related nonprofit organizations and charitable opportunities.

“RATP Dev encourages employee volunteering to positively impact the lives of our passengers, reinforcing the relationship between our clients and the community, said Blaine Rigler, President of RATP Dev USA.  “We are grateful for the opportunity to assist TEF in their mission.”

RATP Dev will present the $5,000 donation at the June 25th TEF board meeting in Texas.
