Hey 2017, it’s hard to say goodbye because it was such an exciting year for RATP Dev. We wrapped up the year with big news -- a corporate rebranding. Our official name is now RATP Dev USA. We’re proud of our new name because, although RATP Dev is a global company, the USA designation highlights our growing presence in the United States. (USA! USA! USA!  Given the time of year, you can’t fault us for a quick Olympic-themed cheer).

We’re so glad we had a chance to touch base with so many of you at the APTA Expo in Atlanta. It was nice to catch up and talk about the ways RATP Dev can help you continue to provide quality public transit. And a big shout out to the new acquaintances made. We look forward to working with you in the future.

So goodbye 2017 … and hello 2018!  As we move forward into the new year, we thought we’d share a few of our New Year’s resolutions and goals. And we promise, none of them involves going to the gym!

We’ve already met our first goal -- the launch of our new corporate website (Since you’re reading this, we’re pretty sure you’ve found it). Make sure you bookmark it, though-because it is loaded with information about our core services and technology, which can help you provide top-notch public transportation to your riders.

Speaking of top-notch service, drive2zero™, RATP Dev’s Safety Management System (SMS) is the premiere program in the industry for building a sound safety culture. drive2zero™ meets all OHSA and FTA regulations, and is one of the only safety programs that encompasses four crucial components in one solution. Mike Anderson, our VP of Safety and Security, has already started implementing drive2zero™ at three of our agencies. Our goal for 2018 is to get it up and running everywhere so we can continue to reduce accidents and injuries.

Resolutions imply improvement, and at RATP Dev our goal is going for excellence. That’s why we are proud to participate in the Innov&Go Challenge. Through Innov&Go, our clients and their teams from around the world share the creative ways they’ve improved their systems. The Innov&Go ideas span the gamut from maintenance to operations to career development to sustainability. Because imitation is the best form of flattering, we introduce all of our partners to these innovative ideas. Many Innov&Go practices are so good they are being used in our systems across the globe. We can’t wait to see what new innovations our partners devise this year.

Continued innovation is a big goal for RATP Dev in 2018. We continue to build a suite of data analytics platforms that offer: unified fare collection, passenger wait-time management, and real-time information. And, we are still experimenting with self-driving buses. Yes, it seems a bit George Jetson to us, too, but we’re excited about the multitude of ways autonomous buses can change the way public transportation services are delivered (no jetpack necessary).

Our 2018 resolutions include continuing to create warm, supportive relationships with our clients. So, we hope we get to see you again in March at the South West Transit Association’s Freedom through Transit Conference and the Texas Transit Association Conference Roadeo & Expo in San Antonio.

With that, we’d like to end by saying thank you to our loyal customers, and welcome to those of you who are considering partnering with us. Please join us as we embark on an action-packed, innovative, and safe journey through 2018. Oh, and don’t forget to ‘like, share, and follow us on LinkedIn.  And check back here for many more news and updates.
